Current research and/or projects

Dr. Diarra’s research program closely aligns with two of AAFC's National research priorities: (1) Addressing threats to the agricultural and agri-food value chain; (2) Improving environmental performance of the Canadian Agricultural System. Dr. Diarra’s research on the molecular ecology of antimicrobial resistant and foodborne bacteria associated with livestock and poultry adds a unique dimension to AAFC’s overall research capability. Overall, his research evaluates the risk to human health associated with livestock and poultry production practices in Canada, and seeks to develop strategies to mitigate the contamination of food and the environment.
