Carrot weevil and carrot rust fly in NS and PEI.

Carrot weevil and carrot rust fly are important pests of carrot in Nova Scotia, Ontario and PEI. Previous models to predict their emergence were developed in Quebec and have been used without validation since 1985. Emergence of both species was examined in NS, ON and PEI in 2014 and 2015. Preliminary results are demonstrating that new models are needed for both carrot weevil and carrot rust in NS and PEI.
