Recherche et / ou projets en cours

1.Évaluation des effets des émissions industrielles de polluants atmosphériques sur les admissions à l'hôpital pour l'asthme infantile et les maladies cardiovasculaires chez les adultes.

2. Élaboration d'une méthodologie pour déterminer si les mesures gouvernementales ou non réglementaires sur les émissions industrielles ont produit des différences significatives en matière de santé de la population.

3.Investigation de l'influence de différentes tailles et des composants chimiques et biologiques de la matière particulaire dans l'air ambiant sur les mesures cliniques de santé (stress oxydatif, inflammation, marqueurs neuraux, fonction cardiovasculaire, fonction respiratoire). Les effets des émissions de trafic sont également étudiés.

Énoncés de recherches/projets

• Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les évaluateurs de risques, les régulateurs de la pollution atmosphérique et les régulateurs du changement climatique, pour rechercher des opportunités pour l'AHERS de mener des recherches qui développent des outils pour soutenir l'évaluation des risques, la gestion des risques et la communication des risques.

• Mener des recherches pour quantifier l'impact des émissions industrielles de pollution atmosphérique sur la santé communautaire, ce qui aidera à estimer les coûts / avantages de la réduction des émissions industrielles et établir des priorités dans les mesures de gestion de la qualité de l'air sur des secteurs industriels spécifiques.

• Élaborer des méthodes pour évaluer si les mesures réglementaires ou non réglementaires du gouvernement concernant les émissions industrielles ont produit des différences significatives en matière de santé de la population.
