Professional activities / interests

Christian Prévost is an Environmental Scientist specialized in remote sensing and geomatics. He has worked in this domain since the early 1980’s. He resided with his family in Burkina Faso and in Thailand but most of his career has been based in Canada, with frequent trips overseas. More recently his career shifted towards the application of remote sensing and geomatics in Canadian North.

Christian Prévost has always been interested by technology transfer in remote sensing, aiming at non-profit organizations and small enterprises which cannot rely on a large internal pool of specialized human resources. He has always been interested in developing and integrating simple, low-cost and robust tools and methods compatible with the financial, technological and human capacities of users, notably in the context of the Canadian North.
