A virtual presentation was presented to CFIA and AAFC participants to provide information on the grain quality assessment in the Grain Quality Lab (GQL) at Ottawa-RDC. This was part of the 2020 Federal Government Virtual Plant Breeding Sessions organized by the CFIA’s Plant Biosafety Office to enhance their knowledge of fundamental breeding concepts. Dr. Hadinezhad explained the importance of end-use quality assessment for developing new varieties, and outlined the tools and methods used in GQL to analyze grain quality traits.
