Chercheur scientifique à l'Institut Maurice Lamontagne (MPO) menant des recherches sur l'écologie des pinnipèdes (principalement sur le phoques gris et le phoque commun de l'estuaire et du golfe du Saint-Laurent) en lien avec leur écologie spatiale, les dynamique prédateurs/proies, l'écologie trophique et l'écophysiologie. Membre du Comité national d'examen par les pairs des mammifères marins pour le Secrétariat canadien des avis scientifiques (SCAS) du MPO. Professeur associé à l'Université de Sherbrooke. Expertise en écophysiologie des poissons et en écologie des salmonidés (Ph.D. à l'Université Dalhousie).
