Research Scientist

To conduct basic and applied research on botanical epidemiology and modeling of vector-borne diseases in horticultural crops.

Keywords: Phytovirus, quantitative epidemiology, virus metagenomic, ecogenomic, modelling and dynamic simulation.

Current research and/or projects

In synergy with the mission of the CRDH-Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, my laboratory will be responsible for developing biovigilance systems for the detection of viruses and for modeling the dynamics that characterize the interaction between vector, virus and plant in order to estimate risks and predict viral outbreaks.

Research and/or project statements

  • Spatiotemporal dynamic and demographic of plant viruses and virus outbreak risk associated with an ecosystem
  • Comparison in plant viruses in cultivated and uncultivated crops to identify spill over processes, prevalence and spatial distribution of some virus
  • Correlation between plant phenological stages and viral prevalence
  • Distribution pattern of families of viruses detected in horticultural crops
  • Determine the host range of viruses with high agronomic impact to predict the emergence of viral diseases
