Jinxing Huang

Senior Advisor

Jinxing Huang is a Senior Advisor at the Marine Renewable Energy Technology Group at CanmetENERGY-Ottawa. Jinxing is responsible for managing and conducting R&D on various marine energy projects.

Current research and/or projects

The Marine Renewable Energy Technology Group at CanmetENERGY-Ottawa is currently working in two main areas:

  • Performing the marine renewable energy resource assessment

  • Supporting the demonstration of tidal current energy and river hydrokinetic energy technologies

Research and/or project statements

Contributions to science within Government of Canada:

  • Analyzed costs associated to river-hydrokinetic energy production
  • Performed numerical analysis to determine the performance and cavitation characteristics of hydrokinetic turbines
  • Contributed to the development of numerical models and guidelines for river-hydrokinetic turbines array configuration
