Résumé en langage clair

This talk was about the importance of the microbiome in the agroecosystems and aimed at emphasizing how microbiome research is critical to improve the resilience and the sustainability of modern agricultural practices. The talk defined four agricultural microbiome research priorities: i) Study model plant-microbiome systems, ii) Define core microbiomes, iii) Identify the drivers that determine microbiome assembly and resilience, iv) Study multi partite / inter-kingdom interactions to understand functional mechanisms. These priorities in agricultural microbiome research are perfectly aligned with B&B sector’s strategies (PEAT) since they will contribute to i) improve plant nutrients uptake / resilience, ii) identify core beneficial microbiomes, iii) mine bioresources for CleanTech, iv) screen microbiome data to detect pests, invasive species, preserve genetic diversity in agroecosystems.
