In Summerland site, three rootstocks, i.e., G.214, G.41 and M.9T337, demonstrated relatively weak vigor, shown as lower weight of pruned woods in March 2020 (data not included) and less increase in trunk cross section diameter during growing season in 2020 (Fig. 1). On the contrary, G.969 showed the most vigorous scion growth, followed by M.26, NZ#5 and G. 4814 (Fig. 1). Scion on NZ#5, G.935 and G. 969 had higher leaf chlorophyll content (Table 1). No root sucker was produced in 2020, with only exception for one root sucker found in one G.4814 tree.

The trial progress in 2020 was reported.
