Les recherches de Sandra Clarke visent à étudier les répercussions de suppléments et de composants alimentaires sur la santé intestinale et le microbiote. Les travaux de Dr Clarke, qui sont liés à l’objectif stratégique d’AAC qui consiste à améliorer les caractéristiques de produits utilisés à des fins alimentaires et non alimentaires, continuent de porter sur les ingrédients alimentaires et leur capacité de réduire l’inflammation, de maintenir une structure équilibrée des communautés microbiennes intestinales et de favoriser la santé globale.
Énoncés de recherches/projets
- Établir un programme de recherche pour caractériser les effets d’ingrédients alimentaires sur la santé intestinale de mammifères.
- Déterminer s’il est possible d’intégrer des déchets issus de la transformation de céréales et de plantes horticoles à des aliments fonctionnels et de quantifier et de caractériser les agents bioactifs et les répercussions sur la santé intestinale.
Activités professionnelles / intérêts
- Étude des interventions et des suppléments alimentaires (fibres alimentaires, gras) sur la santé intestinale, l’immunité et la structure des communautés du microbiome.
- Caractérisation des altérations de l’inflammation et de la santé intestinale liées au régime alimentaire.
- Ingrédients à valeur ajoutée qui maintiennent ou favorisent la santé intestinale.
