Mandat : Mettre au point des cultivars de blé d’hiver adaptés aux diverses régions agroclimatiques de l’Ouest canadien, qui offrent un rendement élevé, une tolérance au froid, des caractères de productivité supérieurs, une résistance accrue aux maladies et aux ravageurs et des profiles de qualité d’utilisation finale convenant aux marchés traditionnels et émergents.

  1. Amélioration de la stabilité des gains de rendement récents du blé d’hiver de l’Ouest canadien. Western Winter Wheat Initiative, 2016-2020. Incorporer les caractères génétiques de la résistance accrue aux maladies et aux ravageurs dans de nouveaux cultivars de blé CWRW à rendement supérieur pour améliorer la durabilité à long terme des gains de rendement récents.
  2. Mise au point de cultivars de blé d’hiver améliorés pour l’Ouest canadien. Grappe nationale du blé, 2018-2023. Mettre au point des cultivars de blé d’hiver améliorés prêts pour la culture dans l’Ouest canadien.
  3. Blé roux vitreux d’hiver de première qualité pour l’Ouest canadien. Agriculture Funding Consortium, 2019-2022. Mettre au point, à moyen terme, des cultivars de blé d’hiver qui offrent une qualité d’utilisation finale comparable à celle du blé CWRS ainsi qu’un rendement, des caractères agronomiques et une résistance aux maladies comparables à ceux des cultivars actuels au moment de l’enregistrement.
