Les projets de recherche en cours sont axés sur la santé des sols, l’érosion et la productivité des sols, la remise en état des sols, la gestion du fumier de bovins d’engraissement, les amendements organiques et les systèmes d’aridoculture et de culture irriguée.

Énoncés de recherches/projets

1. Intégration de multiples pratiques de gestion bénéfiques (PGB) dans les systèmes de culture biologique : interactions entre la santé du sol, les mauvaises herbes et les insectes.

2. Évaluation de la présence d’hormones synthétiques (acétate de mélengestrol et acétate de trenbolone) et de bêta-agonistes (ractopamine) dans les exploitations bovines et les milieux connexes.

3. Optimisation de la résilience des agroécosystèmes – la productivité, la résilience et la durabilité des systèmes dans les grandes écozones canadiennes.

4. Utilisation de légumineuses pour améliorer l’efficacité de l’utilisation de l’azote, la séquestration du carbone, la santé des sols et la biodiversité des sols dans trois écorégions choisies pour représenter les différentes conditions climatiques du Canada.

5. Systèmes de cultures et d’élevage résilients – dissociation des mécanismes de stabilisation et de restitution du carbone et de l’azote dans les sols fertilisés au fumier.
