Recherche et développement en télédétection centrée sur l’extraction de l’information contenue dans des images radar en vue d’applications ultérieures en appui à la gestion des ressources naturelles et de l’environnement.

Énoncés de recherches/projets

  • Expérience dans de multiples domaines d’application, notamment l’agriculture, la forêt boréale, les zones côtières, les glaces d’eau douce et les forêts tropicales.
  • Expérience en extraction d’information d’images de télédétection radar multifréquence, à multipolarisation et polarimétrique.
  • Élaboration et présentation de cours sur les bases de la télédétection par radar, les principes de la polarimétrie radar et les applications du radar.
  • Connaissance approfondie du potentiel des applications des données d’imagerie  de RADARSAT-2.

  • Coprésident du groupe de travail sur les applications du RSO du gouvernement du Canada.

  • Collaboré avec des collègues internationaux.
  • Participation à une mission du Gouvernement du Canada en Thaïlande pour déterminer comment l'expertise canadienne pourrait aider à répondre aux besoins en information géospatiale découlant du séisme et du tsunami dans l'océan Indien (décembre 2004).
  • Expérience de travail sur le terrain dans les forêts tropicales situées au Brésil, en Colombie et en Guyane.
