Il intègre les approches virologique, entomologique et bioinformatique (p. ex., la métagénomique de pointe) pour mieux comprendre l’écologie du virus et du vecteur, et prédire des événements de sauts d’espèce chez les humains en vue de prévenir des éclosions futures.

Expérience et / ou de travail international

En raison de sa renommée dans le domaine des maladies à transmission vectorielle, l’Organisation mondiale de la Santé l’a invité à être conférencier dans le cadre d’une réunion internationale sur la fièvre hémorragique de Crimée-Congo tenue à l’Institut Robert Koch en Allemagne en 2015. En outre, il a été conférencier invité at une réunion du Groupe de recherche en épidémiologie des zoonoses et santé publique (GREZOSP) à l’Université de Montréal en 2020, et à la 6e conférence euro-mondiale sur les maladies infectieuses à Paris en 2017. 

Il a aussi été invité à assurer la direction d’un numéro spécial sur le thème de la découverte des nouveaux virus à transmission vectorielle en tant que rédacteur de Microorganisms (MDPI) (2021 à aujourd’hui), et il représente le comité de rédaction du Journal of Tropical Medicine and Health (2018 à aujourd’hui) et le Herbal Medicine Journal (2017 à aujourd’hui).
