Je suis impliqué dans la surveillance des insectes ravageurs, la lutte intégrée contre les ravageurs, l'étude de la biodiversité et le développement de nouveaux outils de lutte biologique contre les insectes. J'ai une formation en physiologie des insectes, en particulier en ce qui concerne la tolérance au froid et la diapause (hivernage).

Recherche et / ou projets en cours

Je vise à améliorer les méthodes de surveillance des insectes, à comprendre comment les pratiques agricoles influencent la biodiversité des insectes indigènes, à développer de nouveaux outils de lutte biologique qui protègent à la fois l'environnement et l'agriculture canadienne, et à m'assurer que le Canada est prêt à faire face aux nouveaux insectes ravageurs.

J'ai une formation en physiologie et en cryobiologie d'hivernage des insectes, que j'espère appliquer à AAC. Avant de rejoindre AAC, j'ai étudié les mécanismes de tolérance extrême au gel chez les mouches du malt au Centre de biologie CAS (République tchèque), après quoi j'ai étudié les sorties d'horloge circadienne chez les punaises des haricots à l'Université d'Osaka (Japon).
