Le laboratoire de Dr Tambong travaille sur la taxonomie moléculaire, la phylogénomique, l'identification, la détection, la phylogénétique et la biodiversité des bactéries phytopathogènes et bénéfiques pour l'agriculture (lutte biologique).

Recherche et / ou projets en cours

  • Gestion des collections biologiques d'AAC. Les objectifs de ce projet sont: 1) Soutenir la conservation des collections de banques de gènes vivantes et des collections de référence préservées; 2) Amélioration des technologies de préservation des spécimens de référence ou du matériel génétique vivant; 3) Amélioration de la caractérisation et  exploitations de collection; et 4) soutien aux services nationaux d'identification.
  • Biosystématique des champignons nuisibles et bactéries - Reliant taxonomie et technologie d’omics à la recherche et la réglementation agricoles. L'objectif de ce projet est de relier la taxonomie traditionnelle et basée sur l'ADN en tirant parti des opportunités rendues possibles par les nouvelles technologies génomiques et métabolomiques.
  • Levures et/ou bactéries produisant des caroténoïdes d'importance en biotechnologique. La recherche proposée mènera à l'identification des levures et /ou des souches de bactéries produisant des caroténoïdes naturels comme sous-produits alternatifs de transformation des aliments. Utilisations des sous-produits naturels agricoles / agro-alimentaires réduit les problèmes environnementaux.
  • Surveillance d’un agent pathogène bactérien envahissant (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. nebraskensis) du maïs à l’aide d’une méthode de séquençage de nouvelle generation.
  • Séquençage de nouvelle génération – génomique et métagénomique d’agents pathogènes fongiques et bactériens justiciables de quarantaine chez les plantes cultivées.
  • Mise au point d’outils métagénomiques d’identification et d’analyse fondés sur les amplicons et ciblant principalement les agents pathogènes réglementés ou à haut risqué.

(3)  2010  Recipient of the Agriculture and Agri-Food Research Branch Science Achievement Award for research conducted on DNA array technology for detection and quantification of multiple soilborne pathogens under the supervision of Dr. André Lévesque.
