We also seek to develop novel subunit vaccines that target both bacterial and viral pathogens of Canadian livestock, and in particular Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) and Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD). Using a combination of structure-based vaccine design as well as several naturally-occuring and synthetically-designed display platforms, our aim is to develop genetically-programmable subunit vaccines that present antigens in a multivalent virus-like manner, therefore inducing potent humoral and cell-based immune responses upon livestock administration.
