Dr Andrew R.S. Ross est un chercheur scientifique et chef de section de l'écologie et à la biogéochimie Pêches et Océans Canada Institut des sciences de la mer (MPO-IOS) à Sidney, en Colombie-Britannique. Dr Ross développe et utilise des méthodes d'analyse pour étudier les processus biologiques et environnementaux qui contrôlent la distribution et la biodisponibilité des oligo-éléments et les réponses des organismes aux stress et aux maladies vivre. Ses recherches portent sur la caractérisation de composés liant les métaux (ligands) dans l'océan, l'identification modifiée et les protéines liées au stress (protéomique), et le développement de la spectrométrie de masse et les méthodes basées sur l'affinité pour atteindre ces objectifs. Il mène ses recherches en collaboration avec des collègues dans les universités et d'autres laboratoires gouvernementaux au Canada et à l'étranger.

Il est professeur agrégé adjoint en biochimie et de microbiologie à l'Université de Victoria, en Colombie-Britannique où il enseigne et supervise des étudiants diplômés et de premier cycle en protéomique et la biogéochimie marine. M. Ross est un membre de l'Institut de chimie du Canada, l'Association des chimistes professionnels de la Colombie-Britannique, et le Réseau protéomique Canadien National.
