Les recherches d’Aaron Glenn sur la micrométéorologie cadrent avec la stratégie scientifique sectorielle de la Direction générale des sciences et de la technologie sur la résilience des agroécosystèmes, qui vise à développer des connaissances et des outils afin d’aider le secteur à s’adapter aux répercussions environnementales de la production agricole et de réduire l’empreinte écologique du secteur agricole. Ses recherches cadrent aussi avec l’objectif stratégique visant à améliorer la performance environnementale dans un grand nombre de secteurs de production agricole (p. ex. céréales et oléagineux, bœuf et cultures fourragères), car elles s’étalent sur plusieurs années à l’échelle de l’exploitation agricole et qu’elles englobent un éventail de rotations culturales et de systèmes intégrés de production végétale et d’élevage.
