Abstract

Research done by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada scientists shows that exposure to direct sunlight and low humidity immediately post-harvest reduces quality and shelf life of berries at market. After cold storage (0.5 °C) for one week, followed by shelf conditions for three days (13 °C), changes in quality include an increase in shriveled berries, over ripe berries, and decayed berries.
