  • Genomics for improving potato processing quality
  • Rapid screening and genome biology of potato tolerance to high temperatures, drought and nitrogen deficiency
  • Characterization and regulation of potato somatic genome instability: maintain stability for variety conservation; and enhance somatic variation for selecting new varieties
  • Development of genomic and bioinformatic tools

Potato development and genetic improvement: heat tolerance, tuber cold sweetening resistance, drought tolerance, salinity tolerance, and fertilizer utilization efficiency;

Potato productivity, tuber quality, carbohydrate metabolism, storability, starch accumulation, and tuber number;

Potato cultivar identification and vegetative propagation-induced variation;

Genomic mechanisms for potato plant development and adaptation to environment.

A long-standing academic editor for the scientific journal PloS ONE;

The organizer and chair for the Somatic Genome Workshops, Somatic Cell Breeding workshop, Genome Features and Chromosome Functionality Workshop at the International Plant and Animal Genome Conferences (San Diego, CA, USA).
