Conducting research on the management of Fusarium head blight and leaf spot disease on barley and oat cultivars

Current research and/or projects

  • Improve Fusarium Head Blight resistance in Canadian cereals

  • Characterize Fusarium species affecting cereals in western Canada

  • Determine the incidence and severity of major fungal disease on cereals to monitor existing and emerging issues

  • Determine major pest populations affecting Canadian cereal cropping system

  • Develop strategies to manage biotic risks in cereal production systems
