Research and/or project statements

  • Research on the assessment of the potential for variable N and P accumulation in soil at the field scale based on patterns of precipitation affected by climate change, crop yield, potential for nutrient removal with harvest, and input rate data used for precision management with contemporary agricultural equipment and software

  • Field- and watershed scale experimental work and modeling to assess effects of variable rate fertilizer application, yield based management zones, climate change, and terrain attributes on crop yield, nutrient transport, and soil organic C

  • Assessment of the effects of climate change on precipitation and temperature and consequences for crop yield and nutrient transport in the context of agricultural input systems and diversified rotations
  • Assessment of agricultural input systems and diversified rotations with respect to crop yield and nutrient management in the context of environmental quality

Professional activities / interests

My work at BRDC is focussed on precision agriculture, crop production systems, assessment of the effects of climate change on agricultural production and environmental quality, and field-scale modeling
