Stewart G. Cober

Chief - Air Quality Processes Research

Current research and/or projects

Responsible for managing the Air Quality Processes Research Section of Environment Canada. The researchers in this section advance knowledge and understanding of the chemical and physical processes that govern the emission, transport, transportation and deposition of air pollutants.

The research activities support the following initiatives:

  • Clean Air Regulatory Agenda
  • Chemicals Management Plan
  • Canada-Alberta Joint Oil Sands Monitoring Program
  • Northern Contaminants Program

Professional activities / interests

Environment Canada spokesperson for clouds, formation of rain and snow, aircraft icing and weather modification (including cloud seeding, hail suppression and precipitation enhancement)
