Mireille Chiasson

I am the manager for the Gulf Region Oceans Division. I am responsible for the coordination and delivery of our government's mandate in the Region in terms of Oceans Management. Currently, focus is on Marine Conservation Targets delivered in the Region by existing and new Fisheries Management Closures as well as the exploration of potential new Areas of Interests for designation as new Marine Protected Areas. We have one Marine Protected Area in the Region located in Basin Head PEI. Development a marine protected areas network plan for the Gulf of St. Lawrence in collaboration with Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador Region.
