The Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) is charged with the task of measuring and describing the physical features of Canada's navigable waters and their marginal land areas and making this information available in the most suitable form for use by navigators to enable safe and efficient navigation. We provide hydrographic information necessary to ensure safe and efficient navigation in Canadian waters while increasing knowledge of these waters for their development, management and sovereignty. These services are provided in a cost effective, efficient and responsible manner. As Manager, Data Acquisition, the focus is on collecting hydrographic data and ensuring that appropriate techniques are used for high precision and accuracy in both positioning and depths employing the most current technology and tools.
