- Conducts research related to the climate change program of the Canadian Forest Service
- Main research area is on the impacts of climate change and variation on the growth, dieback and regeneration of boreal tree species in western Canada
- Collaborative research activities include forest monitoring and modeling, remote sensing and scaling plot /stand based data to the landscape level
- Leads the field component of the CIPHA (Climate Impacts on Productivity and Health of Aspen) study
