Mathieu Régnier works as Senior Policy Advisor, Science and Technology Branch (STB) of Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). Mathieu holds a master’s degree (M.A.) in international environmental relations from the Institut universitaire des hautes études internationales (Switzerland) and a master’s (M.Sc.) in environmental technology from Imperial College (England). Mathieu has been working in the environmental field for close to 25 years, and has a special interest in the deployment of environmental humanities in the field of scientific communication. In the course of his career he has been employed at the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity of the United Nations Environment Programme, with oikos International, and at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House). He has collaborated with the Biosphère, Environment Museum (ECCC), for some 15 years, first as a museology consultant and then as Principal Advisor, Communications and exhibits. Socially involved, he is active in the arts and environment community, he founded a nature conservation organization and a Montreal network of sustainable development professionals.
