Current research and/or projects

I manage the Aquatic Biotechnology Lab at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, a core facility for providing access to biotechnology and genomics tools to DFO scientists. We work on a wide range of species (from bacteria on up) and research questions - the common thread in this work is the tools and technology. My own research areas include the development and/or modification of DNA based tools for fisheries applications including population genetic analysis, microbial ecosystem structure analysis and DNA based forensic identification (in conjunction with C&P).
