Biologist in forage and small fruit crop management

Evaluation of various crop management regimes supporting the performance and stress resistance of perennial forage plants; and evaluation of the agronomic potential of various biomass crops and small fruit crops.

Current research and/or projects

Integrating forage crop management to optimize forage productivity, persistence and nutritive value/quality is a priority objective for the Forage and Beef Sector. To achieve this objective, my research activities are focused on the evaluation of 1) simple and complex forage mixtures for grazing, 2) methods for pasture renovation, and 3) crop management to increase alfalfa persistence in a cool and humid climate. Normandin research farm supports research in northern agriculture and I collaborate with breeders to evaluate germplasm for fall dormancy and persistence at Normandin site.
