In collaborative research projects with industry and academia, John has interpreted a variety of 2-D and 3-D seismic datasets acquired offshore eastern Canada.

Professional activities / interests

He works as part of the following GSC projects: New Energy Options for Northerners; East Coast Offshore Secure Energy Assessment; Marine Gas Hydrates; and, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

His research interests include polygonal fault systems, shallow- and deep-water depositional systems, and salt tectonics.

Education and awards

John received a B.A.Sc. degree from the University of Waterloo in 1991 and a M.Sc. degree from Dalhousie University in 1994.
