As a member of the Environmental Health Agro-ecosystem Team located at Brandon Research and Development Centre I am involved in the following areas of work:

  • Agroforestry practices and production systems on the agricultural landscape

  • Willow biomass production systems

  • Research relating to the riparian function of willow biomass production systems and the effects on surface water quality and nutrient movement on the agricultural landscape

  • Soil conservation and management

  • Living Labratory project work in the areas of soil, water (quality and quantity) and biodiversity and wildlife habitat capacity (pollinators)

  • Alley-cropping productrion systems

- Lake Winnipeg Agro-ecosystem Resilience - Proposal ID #3024

- Living Laboratories Prairie Region - involved in three components; Soil, Water and Pollinator (wildlife habitat capacity) 

- Willow Buffer/ Biomass

Research and/or project statements

- contributed to the development of Willow Buffer use guidelines in Prince Edward Island

- in the final year of research to identify the optimal intra-row planting guideline recommendations for willow buffer plantings in the prairies

- alley-cropping research

- research relating to the role and function of field edges
