Research and/or project statements

My research is in the areas of insecticide resistance, biopesticide discovery, plant-insect interactions, and chemical ecology. My recent research studied the effects of plant-derived metabolites on pest insects of vegetable and field crops. My current projects focus on: 1) surveys and mechanisms of pesticide resistance in Colorado potato beetles and two-spotted spider mites in order to provide improved resistance detection; and 2) the use of cover crops to manage wireworm and the effects of cover crops on soil invertebrate biodiversity.
