Geoscience Research Professional

Current research and/or projects

What is the focus of you research?

I am involved in the development of tools and methods for the integration, management and dissemination of multisource geoscience information using OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) and ISO standards. This includes the development of geosciences related and spatially enabled applications based on international standards such as GeoSciML (geology) and GWML (Groundwater Markup Language for hydrogeology).

What is the significance of your research?

My objective is to integrate various sources of heterogeneous data so they can be homogeneously accessed, without centralizing them in a single system, in accordance to the jurisdictions of the agencies producing the data. Standardisations enable us to develop applications that facilitate and greatly improve the dissemination and discovery of geoscience-related information
