Guillaume Légaré-Couture, PhD

I'm working as a lidar specialist at CCMEO Geobase. I work to support the Flood Hazard Identification and Mapping Program (FHIMP) by planning airborne laser sensing (ALS) campaigns in key areas of Canada, and coordinating the validation of the data acquired by contractors.
I provide scientific advice to federal and provincial partners on lidar, lead the improvement of the Federal Guide to Airborne Lidar Data Acquisition, and train new employees on lidar technology.
I also participate and support various research projects in collaboration with other divisions, agencies or institutions (Geological Survey of Canada, Canadian Forest Service, Canmet Energy, etc.) as well as universities.
