Current research and/or projects

I work on marine protected areas (MPAs) and conservation projects in the Estuary and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, in particular we use underwater video to better describe the seabed.

Research and/or project statements

  • Participate in the development of marine protected areas (MPA) projects and conservation areas.
  • Identify indicators and develop monitoring plans for MPAs.
  • Use underwater imagery to describe and monitor benthic habitats and species associated.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary scientific committees to put in place the monitoring of MPAs and conservation areas.
  • Collect information on cold water corals and sponges to help improve their protection.

Professional activities / interests

  • Benthic ecology
  • Oceans protection
  • Underwater imagery
  • Geomatics and spatial analysis
