Supervise the research team in bioclimatology and modelling for the creation and improvement of bioclimatic models that better characterize the impact of climate on agricultual crops and their pests. All these models are implemented in the last version of the CIPRA (Computer centre for agricultural pest forecasting) software, which serves as a "virtual laboratory" for bioclimatic modelling for many scientists, a knowledge integrator in several fields of expertise (climatology, plant physiology, entomology, plant pathology, post-harvest quality, mathematics, informatics, etc.) and a technology transfer vehicle par excellence for all stakeholders in the Canadian agricultural sector. With more than 150 models, CIPRA is now the largest collection of bioclimatic models operational in real- and forecasted in Canada. These models predict the phenology of several vegetable, fruit, cereal and forage crops, as well as the development of insect pests, diseases and physiological disorders that may affect them. Many of these models are also used in national scientific projects to study historical climate trends (e.g. 1950-2017) and the potential impacts of climate variability and change (e.g. 2041-2070).
