Field of Expertise: GIS, modelling, integration and management of surface geology and hydrogeology data, data interoperabiliy and standards, geoscience applications

Current research and/or projects

What is the focus of your research?

I am involved in the integration of multisource data using OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) standards, including the development of web-based information systems, and the development of interoperability standards related to geoscience information sharing, such as GeoSciML standards (geology) et GWML (Groundwater Markup Language for hydrogeology). I also conduct activities under the GIN project (Geoscience Information Network) on the development of tools and methods for the integration of geoscience information in the field of groundwater.  Finally, I am involved in the development of 3D geological models and applications in hydrogeology.

What is the significance of your research?

My objective is to integrate various sources of heterogeneous data so they can become homogeneous, without centralizing them in a single system, in accordance to the jurisdictions of the agencies producing the data.
