Research and/or project statements

Contributing to Environment Canada’s mandate to ensure wildlife is conserved and protected

Arctic ecosystem research focused on the interplay of waterfowl as keystone species, vegetation communities, climate variation and directional change, disease, and interactions with other co-occurring wildlife species.

Long-term research of waterfowl population biology to inform strategies for their conservation.

Developement of statistical methods for estimation of abundance, population change, and demographic components of wildlife.

Application of statistical methods to understand population dynamics, identify drivers of popluation change and inform hunting regulations of waterfowl in North America.
