Research on physical processes important for numerical weather prediction from the local to the global scale, and for time scales ranging from minutes to seasons
- Research for the development of the global NWP model for medium range forecasting
- Research for the development of the regional NWP model for short range forecasting
- Research on the parameterization of radiative transfer and interaction of radiation with gases, aerosols, clouds and the surface
- Research on numerical modelling of cloud-radiation interaction in the Arctic during the International Polar Year (Tawepi project)
Professional activities / interests
Group leader for the global and regional NWP model development
Supervisor of one post-doctoral fellow in aerosol-radiation interaction, one post-doctoral fellow in the modelling of arctic clouds-radiation interaction, and one master student in regional climate modelling (UQAM)
