Current research and/or projects

Dr. Lonsdale is currently involved in the study of agriculturally significant flies and their relatives, especially the leaf-mining flies (Agromyzidae), which include a number of severe crop pests and invasive alien species.

Research and/or project statements

- Systematic revisions of the genera of Agromyzidae, especially those occurring in Canada.

- Global treatments of agromyzid genera and their hosts with a focus on agricultural impact and invasive species.

- Studies on specimen holding of the CNC, with a focus on name-bearing type specimens and taxonomic inventories.
