Research Scientist - Field Entomologist

I monitor insect and other arthropod diversity in field and horticultural crops and orchards. I also develop IPM strategies for pest arthropods and I also develop molecular tools for detection and identification for economically important insects.

Current research and/or projects

I am en entomologist with a strong background in insect systematics. The aim of my research is to improve agricultural productivity and promote ecosystem health through developing sound IPM strategies.

Research and/or project statements

1- Biomonitoring of Coleoptera (beetles) in Southerwestern Ontario.

2- Biomonitoring and development of molecular identification tools for Delia (root maggot fly) in horticultural and field crops.

3- Surveying and testing potential biocontrol agents for tomato pests.

4- Surveying insect populations and communities in hazelnut orchards.

5- testing degree day models insects in carrots
