  • Improving Canadian grown crops which contain bioactive molecules that may provide significant benefits to our cardiovascular health. I also would like continue to investigate the applications and roles of genes and endophytes important in selected bioactive molecule synthesis, and plans to focus on improving Canadian grown crops with desirable traits to use them as functional food.

  • Collaborative work studying the role of bioactive molecules of Canadian grown crops in health.  I am interested in understanding the molecular basis of the specialized crops and improving them in producing specific bio-active molecules.

1. Smart Vertical Farm for Health in Northern Communities

2. Fungal endorcytes for increased production of agricultural crops in salty areas in Manitoba

3. Innovative growing methods to produce bioactive powders for positive economic benefits in Aboriginal communities

4. Potential of oat-derived compounds in the prevention of the development of hypertension and heart disease in spontaneously hypertensive rats

To study the applications and roles of genes and enodolytes important in the synthesis of selected bioactive molecules and to improve Canadian agriculture with desirable traits for use as functional foods.
