Contributes to Environment Canada's mandate to mitigate risk, conducts research and development to deliver scientific and operational knowledge, practices and technologies to enhance environmental emergency preparedness and response in Canada
- Oil and chemical spill modelling
- Oil-sediment interaction and tarball formation following oil spills in aquatic environment
- Effects of chemical dispersants on oil properties, dispersion and sedimentation
- Oil-shorelines interaction and its impact on oil spill modelling
- Effects of turbulent mixing on oil droplet formation and entrainment into the water column using Particle Image Velocimetry and Hotwire Anemometry
Professional activities / interests
Provide trajectory and fate modelling nationwide on a 24/7 basis to support responders during emergency, exercising and risk assessment studies related to environmental pollutions
Review spill modelling works and risk assessment studies as requested by the Regional Environmental Emergencies Teams (REET) and other Departments
Reviewer for several national and international peer-review journals and conference proceedings
Participate to national and international R&D funding competitions and supervise students to conduct research works and prepare their theses
